The Sales and Catering Manager is responsible for booking and detailing all aspects of groups and events, overseeing the execution of event services, and proactively pursuing leads and new business for the Hotel.

Opening in the summer of 2022, Wyndham Garden is a full-service hotel located on the first Urban Reserve in Winnipeg; the Long Plain Madison Reserve located on Treaty 1 territory. The Hotel is owned by Long Plain First Nation and will be operated by Winnipeg-based Sparrow Hotels. The hotel features 132 guest rooms, pool, waterslide, fitness centre, 5800 square feet of flexible meeting space, dining room, café, and 230 parking stalls.

  • Minimum of three years of progressive working experience in the hotel industry with a minimum of two years' experience in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of hotel sales and catering, revenue management, food service principles, and conference management
  • Must be based in Winnipeg, MB.
  • An ability to recruit, train and retain a diverse workforce with a focus on recruiting members of Long Plain First Nation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish and exceed measurable goals such as the development of key accounts, RevPAR, comp set penetration, and guest satisfaction metrics
  • Ability to establish priorities and strategies to maximize hotel revenues
  • Ability to acquire market share through the development of effective marketing and selling strategies


  • A High School Diploma or GED required
  • A Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or other related discipline is an asset
